BLACKHAWKS AGREE TO TERMS WITH MCNEILL
Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have agreed to terms with forward Mark McNeill to a one-year contract.
McNeill, 23, spent last season with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League where he scored a team-high 25 goals and added 23 assists in 64 games. He made his NHL debut this season with the Blackhawks on January 26 at Carolina. Over his AHL career, McNeill has scored 66 goals and added 63 assists in 216 games—all with the IceHogs. He also led Rockford in goals, scoring 23 times during the 2014-15 season en route to earning AHL All-Star honors.
The Edmonton, Alberta, native was originally drafted by the Blackhawks with the 18th overall selection in the 2011 NHL Draft. He represented his country in the World Junior Championships in 2011 and 2013.
