BLACKHAWKS AGREE TO TERMS WITH FORWARD SPENCER ABBOTT
Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have agreed to terms with forward Spencer Abbott on a one-year contract.
Abbott, 28, played the 2015-16 season in the Swedish Hockey League with the Frolunda Indians where he scored 14 goals and added 21 assists in 42 games. He added one assist in nine playoff games.
The native of Hamilton, Ontario, returns to the Blackhawks organization where he played 19 games with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League during the 2014-15 season. He tallied 21 points (12G, 9A) during the regular season and six points (3G, 3A) in eight postseason appearances.
Prior to joining the IceHogs in 2014-15, Abbott played four seasons with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. For his AHL career, Abbott has scored 148 points (49G, 99A) in 187 games. He played in one game with the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2013-14 season.
