BLACKHAWKS AGREE TO TERMS WITH CARRUTH
Chicago. Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have agreed to terms with goaltender Mac Carruth on a one-year contract.
Carruth, 24, started the 2015-16 season with the Indy Fuel of the East Coast Hockey League, posting a 12-10-3 record alongside a 2.43 goals against average and .918 save percentage in 25 games. He finished this season with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey league where he went 6-5-2 with two shutouts. With the IceHogs, Carruth posted a 2.30 GAA and .926 save percentage. Carruth was selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending on April 17, 2016 after allowing two goals on 79 shots over three starts.
The Salt Lake City native has a career record of 10-8-3 in 27 career games with Rockford with a 2.51 GAA and .914 save percentage. Carruth was originally selected by Chicago in the 7th round (191st overall pick) in the 2010 NHL Draft.
