BLACKHAWKS AGREE TO TERMS WITH BERUBE AND OESTERLE

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with goaltender Jean-Francois Berube (ZHAWN-fran-SWUH beh-ROO-bay) and defenseman Jordan Oesterle (OH-stuhr-lee) on two-year contracts that run through the 2018-19 season.

Berube, 25, posted a 3-2-2 record with a 3.42 goals against average and .889 save percentage in 14 appearances with the New York Islanders last season. In 21 career NHL games, all with the Islanders, Berube has registered a 6-4-3 record with a 3.11 GAA and .900 save percentage.

The Repentigny, Quebec, native paced the American Hockey League with 37 wins during the 2014-15 campaign, helping the Manchester Monarchs win the 2015 Calder Cup. He finished the regular-season with a 37-9-6 record and ranked eighth in the league with a 2.18 GAA before going 13-3 during the 2015 Calder Cup Playoffs en route to the championship. He was also named an AHL All-Star in 2015. Berube has appeared in 110 career AHL games between the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (2015-16) and Manchester Monarchs (2009-10, 2012-15).

Berube spent the majority of his first two professional seasons with the ECHL's Ontario Reign (2011-13). He was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round (95th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft.

Oesterle, 25, paced the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors defensemen with 32 points (7G, 25A) during the 2016-17 campaign. He had five multi-point games, including a career-high three-point (3A) outing against San Diego on March 25. He also played in two games with the Edmonton Oilers last season. During the 2015-16 season, he registered five assists in 17 games with Edmonton. In 25 career games with the Oilers, Oesterle recorded six assists. He made his National Hockey League debut on Feb. 21, 2015 vs. ANA.

The Dearborn Heights, Michigan, native played in 157 career games with the Oklahoma City Barons and Condors of the AHL, recording 20 goals and 63 helpers. He was originally signed as a free agent by the Oilers on April 3, 2014. Oesterle played collegiately at Western Michigan University from 2011-14. While there, he notched 34 points (7G, 27A) in 113 games and helped the Broncos to a CCHA Tournament Championship and a NCAA Tournament bid during the 2011-12 season.

In addition, the Blackhawks also agreed to terms today with forwards Patrick Sharp, Lance Bouma and Tommy Wingels.
