The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired forward Jimmy Hayes from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for the 43rd overall selection in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He is the older brother of Chicagoās 2010 first round selection (24th overall) Kevin Hayes.
Hayes, 20, tallied 35 points (13G,22A) in 42 games during the 2009-10 season while helping the Boston College Eagles to the 2010 NCAA Menās Ice Hockey Championship. In two seasons he has registered 21 goals and 27 assists in 78 collegiate tilts with the Eagles.
The Dorchester, Massachusetts, native was originally selected in the second round (60th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by Toronto. He has logged extensive international experience with Team USA, including the 2009 World Junior Championships in Ottawa.
