Black Loses To Red, Bests White In First Scrimmages

In the first day of training camp, Red defeated Black 5-2 in the first scrimmage of the day, behind three points (1 G, 2 A) from defenseman Brian Campbell, as well as a goal and assist from forward Patrick Kane.
In the second scrimmage, Black avenged its loss by defeating White 9-3. Dustin Byfuglien scored two early goals in the first half, and Dave Bolland had four points (2 G, 2 A) in the win. The second scrimmage also featured three penalty shots. Free agent signee Cristobal Huet allowed three goals in his first scrimmage with his new team.
Both games consisted of two 30-minute periods.
