BEST BUY KIDS' DAY GAME SCHEDULED FOR FEB. 15

Special afternoon game scheduled to give kids something to do on day off

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs are bringing back the popular Kids’ Day Game, presented by Best Buy, on Feb. 15 featuring $5 kids tickets, special prizes and prices on food and drinks.

The Presidents’ Day game against Grand Rapids at the Rockford MetroCentre is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. Kids 14 and under can get into the game for just $5. At the special “Kidcession” Stand, located at the Top Dog concession stand in the upper concourse, hot dogs, soda, popcorn and candy will all be $1 for kids only.

Throughout the game the IceHogs will give away 10 video game systems including five Nintendo Wiis and five Playstation 3s for kids. All winners of the video game systems will also receive a pass to an exclusive shopping session at Best Buy on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 8:30-10 a.m. before the store opens.

Winners will claim their video game system at Best Buy that morning which will be open to the winner’s family as well. Hammy Hog and the Fire and Ice girls will be at Best Buy for the exclusive shopping session along with WXRX.

Kids can enter to win the video game systems in the upper concourse through a random drawing or by competing in one of the IceHogs on-ice promotions. The on-ice promotions include the Chipotle Hot Burrito, Human Puck, Frito Lay Goalie Races and the Frozen T-shirt contest.

Plus every kid at the game will get a “Go Green” replica Goalie Mask courtesy of Best Buy, Rock River Chapter of the American Red Cross and Fox 39. The Rock River Chapter of the American Red Cross will also have activities for kids throughout the game and U Gotta Jump will provide a Moon Jump.

Don’t forget your skates as Monday is this season’s final “Skate With The IceHogs” following the game. Fans who bring skates can skate on the MetroCentre ice with IceHogs players.
