Rockford, Ill. -- The Rockford IceHogs announced today they have assigned forwards Tyler Barnes and Chris DeSousa to their ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel.
Barnes, 26, has skated in 22 games with the IceHogs this season, totaling 4g-3a-7pts, including a three-game point streak from Nov. 23-26. The Burnsville, Minn. Native has also produced 3g-6a-9pts in five ECHL games with the Fuel, and will return to Indy with an active two-game goal streak from Feb. 3-4.
DeSousa, 26, has notched 3g-1a-4pts in 24 contests with Rockford in 2016-17. The Ontario, Canada native has yet to debut in Indy this season, but has totaled 7g-10a-17pts in 22 career ECHL games with the Fuel from 2014-16.
Next Home Game: Saturday, Feb. 11 vs. San Antonio Rampage at 7 p.m. The IceHogs begin a five-game home stand Saturday night when they face the Rampage for the fourth time this season. The first 2,500 will receive an IceHogs T-shirt compliments of Toyota.
