Rockford, Ill.- Bacon Bits, the popular 30-minute TV show on FOX-39 featuring the Rockford IceHogs is back this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The bi-monthly show is hosted by WTVO Sports Director Scott Leber and WTVO Weekend Sports Anchor Adam Warner.

This week’s show will feature a conversation with Rockford’s newest defenseman Shawn Lalonde. A Chicago Blackhawks draft pick in 2008, the IceHogs’ youngest player arrived from the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League early last week and made his professional debut with the IceHogs on Friday.

Leber and Warner will take a look at last weekend’s Bowl-A-Thon at Cherry Bowl, which raised $7,450 for a Huntington’s Disease clinic at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford. The segment will also discuss how team captain Jake Dowel’s father and brother have been affected by the disease.

Bacon Bits’ static features are back, including an interview with IceHogs Head Coach Bill Peters and another “Xs and Os” segment with Assistant Coach Ted Dent. The show will include a recap the past two weeks on the ice with highlights and some IceHogs trivia questions.

Next Home Game: Friday, March 26 vs. Peoria Rivermen. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs and Rivermen meet for the final time in 2009-10, the teams’ tenth overall meeting. The first 2,500 fans to the MetroCentre will receive an IceHogs Zamboni courtesy of ESPN Radio 1380 and FOX 39.
