Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs are getting into the Christmas spirit with the annual Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday against the Lake Erie Monsters.
Fans are encouraged to bring new stuffed animals to the game at the Rockford MetroCentre. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
When the IceHogs score their first goal of the game, fans can throw the stuffed animals on to the ice. Players and IceHogs staff will then distribute the items to Rockford area children’s charities and the local hospitals throughout the rest of the year.
Additionally, the first 2,500 fans at the game will pick up a white Jersey Bag courtesy of Rockford Orthopedic, 23 WIFR and BOB FM. And Super Fan Cameron Hughes will be in the stands throughout the night, presented by Nicholson Hardware, Rock Valley College, 23 WIFR and BOB FM.
