Rockford, Ill.- Both Rockford IceHogs’ mascots, Hammy and Hammer, will be out in the Rockford community this weekend.
On Friday, Hammy will head out to the 2011 Rockford Airfest and join the Make-A-Wish foundation to visit with some children and their families from 2-3 p.m. The event kicks off Airfest which runs Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m at the Chicago-Rockford International Airport. Don’t forget to stop by the IceHogs booth for a chance to win an authentic jersey along with other prizes.
The fun continues on Saturday when Hammy will be cheering on all the athletes competing in the 2nd Annual Illinois Jets Youth Track and Field Invitational taking place at Guilford High School from 9-10 a.m.
Hammer will grab his fishing pole to partake in the Annual Fish n' Fun Event put on by the Rockford Lions Club at Rock Cut State Park.
Then to cap of a very busy day, Hammy and Hammer will be at Carlson Ice Arena for the Doctors against Firefighters charity hockey game beginning at 5:30 p.m.
