Rockford, Ill.- After opening the game with a 1-0 lead the Rockford IceHogs gave up four unanswered goals to the Houston Aeros to drop the contest 4-1 on Wednesday at the Rockford MetroCentre.
After a couple of good opportunities the IceHogs finally struck on their second power-play chance. Jeff Taffe faked a shot and eluded an Aeros defender and fired one passed Matt Hackett at 17:43 in the first period with assists from Peter LeBlanc and Ryan Potulny to put Rockford up 1-0.

Then, the Aeros took a 2-1 lead as Jean-Michel Daoust slipped the puck past Alec Ricards for his ninth goal on the campaign. Dauost was setup by Patrick O'Sullivan.
Houston extended their lead to 3-1 halfway through the final frame. Prosser dished the puck to O'Sullivan and he buried his seventh goal of the season to double the Aeros lead at 10:55 in the third period on the power play. Chad Rau also registered an assist.
With the IceHogs on a power play and Richards on the bench in favor of the extra attacker, Carson McMillan sealed the deal as he flipped in an empty-net goal at 19:34.
