ADS SURGE LATE TO SAIL AWAY WITH 8-2 WIN
ROCKFORD, Ill. – Jordan Schroeder and Joni Tuulola scored back-to-back goals within two minutes of each other to bring the IceHogs within one goal in the second period, but the Milwaukee Admirals erupted for five unanswered tallies to pull away and cruise to an 8-2 win over Rockford Saturday night at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
Milwaukee continued last night’s first period success on Saturday, duplicating Friday’s three-goal opening frame with a trio of tallies tonight. Anthony Richard, Blackwell and Schneider each lit the lamp within the first 14 minutes to give the Admirals a 3-0 lead entering the second period.
Schroeder helped fuel what appeared to be a comeback, tipping in a wrister from Dmitry Osipov for the Hogs’ first goal of the contest. Tuulola followed suit at 2:40 into the period when he took a pass from the boards from Dylan McLaughlin and snuck the puck under the pads of Tom McCollum to pull Rockford within 3-2.
The game was all Milwaukee from there, though, as the Admirals pounded in five more goals before the end of the game to skate away with an 8-2 victory.
Collin Delia stopped 23 of 31 shots in the loss, while McCollum turned aside 25 of 27 shots for the win.
