ADMIRALS BUOYED BY 30-SHOT BARRAGE

Recap sized
Milwaukee, Wisc. – The Milwaukee Admirals erupted for four goals and an empty-netter in a 5-2 thumping of the Rockford IceHogs Friday night at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
Late in the first frame, the Admirals were able to grab a 1-0 lead. Stephen Perfetto tossed a centering feed to Pontus Aberg, and he one-timed the puck past goaltender Lars Johansson at 15:04. Andrew O'Brien doubled the Milwaukee lead with just 1:51 to play in the first, slapping the puck from the left point through a heavy screen and into the bottom right corner for his second goal of the campaign.
The second frame belonged to Rockford. Michael Latta knocked home his first goal in an IceHogs sweater at 1:40 of the first. He took a pass from Vince Hinostroza and then gathered his own rebound to strike against his former club. Hinostroza then tied the game with his first goal for the Hogs this season. After heavy pressure in the attacking zone, Dowell took the puck from Lundberg at center, raced into the attacking end, and feathered a pass to Hinostroza on the right wing. The Illinois native snapped a shot inside the left post at 6:01 to even the score at 2-2. Rockford outshot Milwaukee 16-7 in the second stanza.
Frederick Gaudreau lit the lamp twice in the final frame including an empty-netter. Pontus Aberg also scored for the Admirals at 17:09 in the third period.
