2019-20 Season in Review - November 2019
After a 3-5-0 start to the season, the Rockford IceHogs rolled into the month of November looking to pick up momentum in the AHL’s Central Division standings.
With a victory in their final game of October (6-2 win vs. San Antonio), the IceHogs began the new month with a four-game winning streak, one of two victorious four-game stretches during the season and the longest of the campaign.
Overall, November proved to be the best month of the season for the IceHogs, earning an overall 8-3-0-1 record with three more wins coming against the Chicago Wolves and a 5-0-0 start to the head-to-head series, the longest winning streak all time against the Wolves and the best start ever against their in-state rival in team history.
Light the Lamp:
The IceHogs scored a season-high seven goals on Nov. 3 vs. Chicago at BMO Harris Bank Center. Down 4-2 heading into the third period, forward Dylan Sikura netted his first professional hat trick in a monsterous comeback effort. The five goals scored in the third period were the most the IceHogs would score in any single frame during the 2019-20 campaign. You can watch the FULL game below on #IceHogsRewind!
Offensive Shootout in Texas:
In a wild see-saw battle against the Texas Stars on Nov. 23, the IceHogs and Stars combined for a season-high 13 goals in a 7-6 shootout loss in Cedar Park, Texas. Forward John Quenneville notched his seventh career multi-goal game with a pair of markers in the loss and Adam Boqvist set a career high with three assists. Additionally, Alexandre Fortin, Tyler Sikura and Anton Wedin each posted multi-point efforts with a goal and an assist.
With the shootout loss, the IceHogs picked up points in seven of their last nine games and are 6-2-0-1.
