ST. PIERRE TO SHAVE HIS HEAD FOR LOCKS OF LOVE

St Pierre Martin 1213g

Fans who participate will receive a free ticket and hat

Rockford, Ill.-Rockford IceHogs team captain Martin St. Pierre returned to the team for the first time in five seasons and has sported a new look in 2012-13. St. Pierre has been growing his hair out and will cut it all off for Locks of Love on Saturday, Dec. 15.

Following Rockford’s game on Dec. 15 against the Chicago Wolves, St. Pierre will have his head shaved by a stylist from Great Clips in the upper concourse of the BMO Harris Bank Center, across from Oink Outfitters.

“There’s nothing better during the Christmas holiday season than helping someone out and helping make someone’s wish or dream come true,” said St. Pierre. “For me, to cut off all my hair and donate it to Locks of Love so someone who is in need of wig can have it, it’s the least that I can do.”

IceHogs fans will also have an opportunity to donate to Locks of Love as well, as Great Clips will be cutting hair at the IceHogs games on Friday, Dec. 7, Saturday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 15, collecting the hair and donating it to charity. Every fan that shaves their head will also receive a free ticket to the IceHogs game on Jan. 9 and an IceHogs hat. Women can receive a free ticket and hat by clipping a portion of their hair.

This isn’t the first time that St. Pierre has donated his hair to charity. While skating with the Ontario Hockey League’s Guelph Storm from 2002 to 2004, St. Pierre cut his hair and donated it to charity so the mother and son of his billet family could have wigs.

Next Home Game: Friday, Dec. 7 vs. Milwaukee Admirals: Game time is 7:05 p.m. The Admirals and IceHogs meet for the second time this season, both so far at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The Midwest Division rivals will faceoff a total of 12 times this season, including five times in December.
