The Chicago Blackhawks regular-season opener in Helsinki, Finland against the Florida Panthers on Friday, October 2 at 11:00 A.M. (CT) can be heard locally on WIND-AM (560) due to a conflict on the flagship station, Chicago’s WGN Radio 720. In addition, the Blackhawks second regular-season game in Helsinki, Finland against the Florida Panthers on Saturday, October 3 at 11:00 A.M. (CT) can be heard locally on ESPN Chicago (AM 1000) due to a similar conflict on Chicago’s WGN Radio 720.

Veteran broadcasters John Wiedeman and Troy Murray will still handle the call, live from Finland. This marks the second season that Chicago’s WGN Radio 720 will be the home of Blackhawks hockey as part of the historic partnership.

Along with listening to the radio broadcast, Blackhawks fans can watch both games locally on Comcast SportsNet with the call from Pat Foley and Steve Konroyd, who will be on hand in Finland.

The Blackhawks join the Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues and Florida as one of four National Hockey League teams selected to participate in “NHL Premiere 2009,” which helps launch the 2009-10 regular season. The Blackhawks and Panthers will play home-and-home games at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland, on Fri., Oct. 2 and Sat., Oct. 3. The Oct. 2 contest will mark the Blackhawks first-ever regular-season game in Europe.
