Game Preview: IceHogs Take on Wild For Home Finale
Rockford, IL- The Rockford IceHogs (27-35-3-2) take on the Iowa Wild (25-33-6-3) for final home game of the 2025-26 regular season tonight at 7 p.m.
The Matchup:
Series Finale: For one final time this season, the IceHogs will square-off against the Wild at the BMO Center. Rockford has a 7-2 overall record against the Wild and a 2-2 record at home against Iowa this season. The IceHogs had a four-game win streak against the Wild before the last meeting on April 4, taking a 4-0 loss. Brett Seney has compiled 12 points (4G, 8A) in nine games against Iowa and has posted two multi-point efforts over the last three meetings with the division rival. Five of the first nine meetings have been decided by one goal, including two games that ended in overtime and one in the shootout. Rockford and Iowa enter the final meeting of the season even in the standings with 59 points.

Three Things to Know:
Home Stretch: The IceHogs get set for their final three-games in three-days stretch of the 2025-26 campaign with a home bout with Iowa before traveling to Grand Rapids, MI and Rosemont, IL. This is the fifth three-in-three stretch for Rockford this season and has an 8-3-1 mark over the first four stretches. Following tonight's game the IceHogs will head to Grand Rapids, MI in search of their third win over the Griffins. Rockford will close out the weekend against the Wolves with a chance to pick up a third consecutive win over the Wolves and even up the season series.
O Captain! My Captain!: Second year captain Brett Seney leads the IceHogs into the weekend with 49 points (16G, 33A) on the season. The Ontario native has posted five multi-point efforts in nine games against Iowa this season and 11 total multi point performances through 61 games. Earlier in the month Seney hit the 500 professional games played milestone, spending 246 games in an IceHogs sweater. Seney has 359 total points in professional hockey (14 NHL, 345 AHL) with 205 points coming with the IceHogs. The 2015 6th round selection is in his fourth season with Rockford.
Grudge Match: The Hogs and Wild will drop the puck for their final match of the season series and wrap up a period of five meetings in just three weeks. Tensions have run hot between the two rivals over the three week stretch. Rockford is currently third in the AHL with 261 times shorthanded while the Wild has had the most power play chances in the league with 257. Rockford is second with 52 major penalties, trailing Milwaukee with 58. Andrew Perrot leads Rockford with 11 fighting majors while Dillon Boucher and Connor Mylymok each have 10 fighting majors on the season.
