Fallon reassigned to Fresno

Rockford, Ill. – Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Monday that the National Hockey League Club has returned on loan goaltender Corey Crawford to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Additionally, rookie goaltender Joe Fallon was reassigned by the Blackhawks to the Fresno Falcons of the ECHL.

Crawford, 23, currently has six wins (6-3-0-0) with the IceHogs and has registered a 2.75 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage in nine appearances this season. The Montreal, Quebec, native was recalled by the Blackhawks on Nov. 28 and spent the last four games backing up goaltender Cristobal Huet while Nikolai Khabibulin nursed an injury. He spent the majority of the 2007-08 campaign with Rockford, posting a 29-19-5 record with 2.83 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage.

Fallon, 23, will rejoin Fresno after being assigned to Rockford on Nov. 28. The Bemidji, Minnesota, native made his American Hockey League debut on Dec. 6 at Chicago in relief of Antti Niemi and made nine saves on 10 shots. In the 2008-09 season, he has posted a 7-2-0-0 record with a 2.54 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage in nine appearances with the Falcons.
