BLACKHAWKS ASSIGN CULLIMORE TO ROCKFORD

DiDomenico reassigned to Toledo

Rockford, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned defenseman Jassen Cullimore to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.

Cullimore, 38, has recorded eight assists and eight penalty minutes in 36 regular-season games with the Blackhawks this season. He also collected one assist and a +4 plus/minus rating in three tilts with Rockford.

The Simcoe, Ontario, native is a veteran of 812 career National Hockey League regular-season games, racking up 85 assists, 111 points and 704 penalty minutes with the Vancouver Canucks (1994-96), Montreal Canadiens, (1996-98), Tampa Bay Lightning (1998-2004), Blackhawks (2005-07, 2010-11) and Florida Panthers (2007-09). Cullimore has also notched four points (G, 3A) in 35 career postseason contests, which includes helping Tampa Bay capture the 2004 Stanley Cup.

The Blackhawks also announced that rookie forward Chris DiDomenico was been reassigned to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye from the IceHogs.

DiDomenico, 21, has played in 19 games with Rockford during his first professional season and has an assist with six penalty minutes. The Woodbridge, Ont. native was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in round six (#164 overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

The winger was acquired by the Blackhawks on June 30, 2010 along with Victor Stalberg and Philippe Paradis from the Maple Leafs in exchange for Kris Versteeg and Bill Sweat.

Next Home Game: Friday, Jan. 7 vs. the Toronto Marlies. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. Rockford returns home for the first time in 2011 for their annual home tilt against Toronto. The game is the first of two on the campaign with the Marlies.
