Winnipeg, MB - The Rockford IceHogs couldn't pull even against the Manitoba Moose, falling 2-1 on Sunday afternoon inside the Canada Life Centre.
The Moose struck in the opening minute for the second-straight day. Brayden Yager was credited with the power play goal after his pass knocked off Kevin Korchinski and past Stanislav Berezhnoy.
Manitoba doubled its lead 2-0 in the early stages of the 2nd period when David Gustafsson stuffed a rebound into the net off the far post.
Nick Lardis cut into the deficit with his first goal since returning to the IceHogs. The rookie received a cross-crease pass from Rem Pitlick and blasted it past the reach of Dominic DiVincentiis.
The Hogs pushed for the equalizer in the final frame, but couldn't find the tying goal. DiVincentiis locked in the Manitoba win, finishing with 32 saves.
