Rockford climbs back into series, now sets sights on clincher

Postseason Week 4 Recap
Down 2-0 after the first two games of the West Division Finals, the Rockford IceHogs battled back for three-straight wins and are now faced with a win-or-go-home Game 7 on Tuesday night. In Week 4 of the Calder Cup Playoffs, the IceHogs grabbed a pair of wins against their division rivals.

-Center Martin St. Pierre has four straight multi-point games totaling 1g-8a-9pts


-Rockford will play its third ever Game 7 in the postseason on Tuesday and have a 1-1 record in a series’ seventh contest

-Rockford allowed four second-period goals in Game 6 against the Chicago Wolves

-Entering Game 6 of the West Division Finals, the IceHogs had allowed four total goals in the second period in 10 previous Calder Cup Playoff games

-After Rockford held the Wolves to 2-20 on the power play in three straight wins, Chicago went 4-7 on the advantage in their 4-3 Game 6 win

-The IceHogs failed to win a game for the first time in the postseason in Game 6 when they scored the game’s first goal

-Rockford has allowed 19 goals in the West Division Finals to the Wolves, 11 on the power play

-Of the eight even strength goals scored on Rockford through six games, five were scored in Game 2

-Defenseman Jim Fahey has a plus/minus of +9 over his last seven games

-Fahey’s +9 leads all IceHogs skaters in the postseason and is third overall in the AHL

-Chicago’s 74 PIMs in Game 5 was the most for an IceHogs opponents in a playoff game

Hot Hog Postseason Week 4:
After getting held scoreless in the first two games of the West Division Finals, center Martin St. Pierre has at lest two points in each game since. During Week 4 of the Calder Cup Playoffs, St. Pierre has a goal and six assists in three games. The center now leads the IceHogs with 14 postseason points including 12 assists.

Upcoming Games:
Tuesday, May 13 at Chicago Wolves. (Game 7) Game time is 7 p.m. The West Division Finals will come to a close on Tuesday night at the Allstate Arena and one team will go home for the season. The series deciding Game 7 will commence in Rosemont and the winner will move on to the Western Conference Finals.
