Week 19 Recap
It has been failry smooth sailing for the Rockford IceHogs as wins and losses go during the 2007-08 regular season. That was until Week 19. The IceHogs picked up just one point during Week 19 in four games for the teams first real slump of the ‘07-08 campaign. Rockford will try to rebound during Week 20 against the Hogs’ three closest rivals.

Bacon Bits:

-Rockford allowed eight goals in back-to-back periods spanning from the third period on Friday against Houston and the first period Sunday in Quad City

-Rockford is currently stuck in a season low five game winless streak (0-4-1-0) dating back Feb. 2

-After going 15 straight road games without regulation loss the IceHogs have lost back-to-back road games for just the second time this season

-During Rockford’s slump, the IceHogs have lost two games by a goal and two games by two goals

-Rockford went 2-for-7 on the power play against Quad City on Sunday, the second rated penalty kill in the AHL

-Over Rockford’s last five games the club is 6-for-28 (21.4%) on the power play

-The IceHogs have scored only three even strength goals over its last five contests

-In 13 home games against the AHL’s West Division, Rockford is 6-6-0-1

-Rookie defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson has three goals this season and two of them at Quad City

-With Rockford’s 4-2 loss at Chicago on Saturday, the club’s franchise record streak of 15 consecutive road games without a regulation loss came to an end

-Rockford’s last regulation road loss came on Nov. 24 at Chicago and the IceHogs went 10-0-1-4 during that stretch

-The IceHogs have nine road games remaining during the 2007-08 regular season and four of them are in Milwaukee against the Admirals

Hot Hog Week 19:
IceHogs rookie defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson has developed into one of the IceHogs most steady blue-liners. During Week 19 Hjalmarsson had a goal and an assist. Hjalmarsson scored his third goal of the season on Sunday in Quad City and chipped in an assist with a game-high seven shots on goal against Manitoba on Thursday.

Upcoming Games:
Friday, Feb. 15 vs Quad City Flames. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. Rockford looks for revenge against the Flames who held on to a quick start on Sunday to topple the IceHogs 4-3. The first 1,500 girls to the game on Friday will pick up a pink IceHogs T-shirt in spirit of Valentine's Day courtesy of Rock River Valley Blood Bank, Midwest Stitch, Hulsebus Chiropractic, Guerilla Graffix, General Mills and B103. The game is the third at the MetroCentre between the West Division foes and the first 500 kids to the contest 12 and under will pick up a Walking With Dinosaurs lapel pin courtesy of the IceHogs and Centre Events.

Saturday, Feb. 16 vs. Chicago Wolves. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. One of the quickest growing rivalry’s in the AHL resumes in Rockford on Saturday. The first 1,000 kids 12-and-under will pick up an IceHogs Youth Jersey courtesy of Feldco Windows and Doors, 104.9 FM WXRX, WTVO-TV channel 17 and WQRF-TV FOX 39.

Sunday, Feb. 17 at Milwaukee Admirals. The Hogs dock in Milwaukee at 4 p.m. The IceHogs travel to the land of cheese and beer to battle the Admirals in Milwaukee for the second time this season. The game is the fourth overall between the West Division clubs and is the first of four straight games against Milwaukee for the IceHogs.

Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all of the IceHogs regular and post-season games on the Hogs flagship radio station Rockford’s Voice, WNTA-AM 1330 and 30 regular season games on ESPN Radio 1380-AM, WTJK. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with the B2 Networks! Visit the IceHogs Web site (icehogs.com) and click on the “click here to watch the game live” icon, and for just $6, you can catch all of the IceHogs action on your computer. Also, fans with Insight Cable television can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action this season. The broadcast begins with the Pregame Show 30 minutes before the puck drops. Hog Talk Returns This Week At Cousin’s Bar and Grill:
Bud Light Hog Talk returns tonight at Cousin’s Bar and Grill! The show runs from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and is hosted by Jim Stone and Double T. Tonight’s show will feature IceHogs defenseman Kenny MacAulay and center Evan Brophey. IceHogs Head Coach Mike Haviland will also be on hand. Come out to Cousin’s to enjoy some great food and Bud Light specials. If you can’t make it out to Cousin’s you can listen live on 1330AM WNTA.

Where to Watch the IceHogs:
IceHogs fans can now catch every IceHogs regular season game live on TV! Every IceHogs home game during the 2007-08 season can be viewed on Insight Cable Channel-57. When the IceHogs are on the road fans can watch them live at Damon’s Grill in Rockford. Fans can take advantage of great Bud Light specials and food specials at Damon’s Grill.
