GOALTENDER LANKINEN REASSIGNED TO INDY

ROCKFORD, ILL. – The Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned goaltender Kevin Lankinen from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs to the ECHL’s Indy Fuel.

Lankinen, 23, is 1-2-1 with a 2.69 GAA and .889 save percentage in four games with the IceHogs this season. He earned his first AHL win in his most recent appearance after making a season-high 36 saves on 38 shots on Dec. 2 vs. San Antonio. The netminder has allowed just two goals in each of his last two AHL outings, combining for 57 saves on 59 shots in that stretch.

The Helsinki, Finland native returns to Indy where he is unbeaten in four starts with the Fuel. Lankinen is 4-0-0-0 with a 2.50 GAA and .910 save percentage during his ECHL tenure, including making 25 or more saves in each of his last three games.

Prior to signing a one-year NHL deal with the Blackhawks this offseason, Lankinen won a Liiga Bronze Medal with HIFK in the Finnish Elite League in 2017-18.
