Game Preview: IceHogs Battle The Stars In 2025-26 Season Finale
Cedar Park, TX- The Rockford IceHogs (28-38-3-2) conclude the 2025-26 season with a Saturday night contest with the Texas Stars (36-29-4-2) at 7 p.m. Rockford will have a chance to bounce back following a 6-1 loss to the Stars last night.

Series Finale: The IceHogs will look to snap their two game skid against the Stars in the final game of the regular season. The Stars have outscored the IceHogs 11-1 over the last two meetings as Rockford has a 3-3-0-1 against Texas this year. IceHogs captain Brett Seney collected his first goal against Texas last night, ending Remi Poirier's shutout in the third period. Seney now has six points (1G, 5A) against the Stars in the season series. With the final game taking place at the HEB Center in Cedar Park, Rockford will have a chance to end the season 2-2 in the Lone Star State with a win tonight.

Scoring Milestones: Rockford's lone goal came from fourth-year IceHog Brett Seney in the third period. The goal was Seney's 17th goal of the season and his 51st point, eclipsing the 50 point milestone for the fourth time in his career. Rem Pitlick tallied the primary assist on the goal, recording his 50th point this season. 35 of Pitlick's 50 points this season have come with the IceHogs. The Rockford forward has four points over his previous four games.
Rookies Look To Finish Strong: The IceHogs have had a total of 14 rookies lace up their skates during the 2025-26 season. Three of the rookie skaters ended the year in Chicago in Nick Lardis, Oliver Moore, and Sam Rinzel. A handful of the remaining rookies in Rockford will conclude their season having made meaningful impacts throughout the season Jamie Engelbert leads Rockford rookies with 28 points (9G,19A) in his first full AHL season. 2023 2nd round pick, Martin Misiak enters the season finale with 15 points (4G,11A) in 62 games.
Building For The Future: Rockford has announced a handful of players who will return for the 2026-27 season. Extensions to Jamie Engelbert, Dillon Boucher, Connor Mylymok and Kevin Lombardi.
