Week 16 Recap:
Goals against have been a problem for Rockford IceHogs in 2011-12 as the team ranks last in the AHL in that category. But during Week 16, the IceHogs allowed just seven goals in three games, their stingiest stretch of the season. Rockford earned one win in three outings and now faces another four-game week in Week 17 starting with a Monday matinee against the Texas Stars.

Carter Hutton Goalie
Carter Hutton split his two starts in Week 16, but allowed just three goals in the two games. On Friday night, Hutton backstopped the IceHogs past the Western Conference leading Oklahoma City Barons, making 18 saves in Rockford’s 2-1 overtime win. Hutton came back on Saturday and made 28 saves in Rockford’s 2-1 loss at San Antonio. Hutton finished the week 1-1-0- with a .939 save percentage and a 1.48 goals against average.

Game time is 1:05 p.m. The IceHogs return home for the first time in over two weeks for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. matinee game to take on the Stars for the second and final time at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The puck gets on the ice at 5:05 p.m. Sunday is Rockford’s Annual Blackhawks Night as the team welcomes former IceHogs skaters Bryan Bickell and Nick Leddy and former head coach Mike Haviland back to the BMO Harris Bank Center.
