CRAWFORD REJOINS ICEHOGS FOR THIRD SEASON

Chicago, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Stan Bowman announced Sunday that the National Hockey League Club has assigned goaltender Corey Crawford to the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.

The 24-year-old Crawford appeared in one preseason game with the Hawks, recording 24 saves on 30 shots in the team's 6-2 loss against the Capitals on Sept. 23. Crawford, a native of Montréal, Québec, also registered four saves on five shots in 29:32 of action in Chicago's 9-2 win over HC Davos in Zurich, Switzerland on Sept. 28 as part of the Victoria Cup.

In two seasons with the Rockford IceHogs, Crawford is 51-37-8 in 102 appearances with a 2.71 goals against average and a .912 save percentage. He has appeared in 14 career postseason games with Rockford, posting a 7-7 record.

Next Home Game: Friday, Oct. 16 vs. Chicago Wolves. Game time is 7:05 p.m. After five-straight road tilts to open the 2009-10 regular season the IceHogs return home to face the Wolves. The first 5,000 fans to the game will pick up an IceHogs wall calendar from Maverick Media and 23 WIFR.
