Chicago Blackhawk Charities Announce 2009-10 Grant Recipients

Chicago Blackhawk Charities today unveiled the list of community organizations selected to receive grants during the 2009-10 season. The 16 recipients have all been chosen because their goals align with those of CBC, seeking to create a better tomorrow for the youth of today.
“Chicago Blackhawk Charities is proud to partner with each one of our 2009-10 grant recipients and fully support the work each non-for-profit has accomplished throughout the city of Chicago,” Blackhawks Senior Director of Market Development and Community Affairs Peter Hassen said. “This years’ list of recipients and the amount donated to each is a reflection of the efforts of our front office, our loyal fans and our tremendous sponsors who support our mission.”
The 16 community organizations selected for the 2009-10 season are the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois, the American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association, Boys Town of Chicago, BUILD, Inc., Chicago Jesuit Academy, Comer Children’s Hospital, Community TV Network, Dreams For Kids, Girls In The Game, Maywood Fine Arts, Midtown Educational Foundation, Nettelhorst Community Group, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Robert Crown Center for Health Education, Snow City Arts Foundation, and WTTW Kids Readers Are Leaders.
As the official charity of the Blackhawks, Chicago Blackhawk Charities believes in a series of fundamental principles that collectively serve to support local citizens and better the lives on young people in and around the city of Chicago. In promoting health, fitness and teamwork, aiding at-risk children, and facilitating positive educational experiences, CBC works alongside organizations entrenched in the community and committed to similar objectives.
Each of Chicago Blackhawk Charities’ 2009-10 grant recipients will be honored in a ceremony between periods at the Blackhawks preseason opener against the Washington Capitals on Saturday, September 19 at the United Center.
