BLACKHAWKS ASSIGN CARRUTH

Rockford, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have assigned goaltender Mac Carruth to the Rockford IceHogs. The Blackhawks and Carruth agreed to a one-year contract in June.

Carruth, 24, returns to the IceHogs for his fourth professional season. Last season he appeared in 17 games with Rockford posting a record of 6-5-2 with a .926 save percentage, a 2.30 goals against average and two shutouts after he started the year with ECHL affiliate, Indy Fuel. The Jackson, Wyoming native has also played in Rockford in both the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. In his sophomore season with the IceHogs he stopped 23 shots to earn his first-career AHL shutout against the Chicago Wolves on Nov. 23, 2014. That season, Carruth tallied a 2-1 record in three games with a .925 save percentage. In 2013-14, he appeared in seven games with two wins, two losses and a tie.

Carruth will report to training camp with the IceHogs which opened today at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
