BLACKHAWKS AGREE TO TERMS WITH ROB FLICK

Rockford, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Tuesday that the club has agreed to terms with forward Rob Flick on a three-year contract.

Flick, 21, recorded 13 points (7g-6a) and a +2 plus/minus rating in 45 regular-season tilts with the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs this season during his professional debut. The London, Ontario native came on strong for the IceHogs down the stretch, registering eight of his 13 points in the club’s final 13 games of the season. Flick’s 91 penalty minutes ranked sixth on the team.

He also notched four goals, six assists and 43 penalty minutes in 17 contests with the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye.

Originally selected by the Blackhawks in the fourth round (120th overall) of the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Flick spent three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Mississauga-St. Michael’s Majors from 2008-11. The London, Ontario, native registered 99 points (46G, 53A), a +29 rating and 393 penalty minutes in 181 career regular-season games, and paced the team in penalty minutes in each of his last two campaigns. Flick tallied 22 points (11G, 11A) and 92 penalty minutes in 46 OHL postseason tilts, and was a part of the Majors club that hosted the 2011 Memorial Cup.
