Winnipeg, MB- The Rockford IceHogs (16-24-2-2 ) will take on the Manitoba Moose (21-15-3-0) for the final time this season. The IceHogs will have a chance at the weekend split after falling to the Moose by a 4-1 final yesterday afternoon.

Last Time Out: The IceHogs fell behind early to begin the weekend, surrendering the opening goal to Mason Shaw just 16 seconds into the game. Gavin Hayes would tie the game at 16:59 to get Rockford on the board. The Moose would net the next three goals to down the IceHogs in the first game of the weekend. The Hogs were held to just 16 shots on goal which is the 2nd fewest shots against the Moose this season.

Three Things to Know:

Series Finale: Rockford will close out the season series with the Moose this afternoon at Canada Life Centre. The Hogs will enter the afternoon matchup with a 2-4-1 record against Manitoba. The visiting IceHogs opened their road schedule against the Moose with a 7-3 win on Dec. 20 where Rem Pitlick tallied four points in his first game with Rockford. Pitlick and Brett Seney are tied for the team lead in points against the Moose, both have six points. 

Injury Update: The IceHogs announced medical updates earlier this week following Tuesday's game against Milwaukee. Drew Commesso entered concussion protocol on January 27. Commesso left the game in the second period against the Admirals and did not return. Forward Jackson Cates also entered concussion protocol on January 27.  The IceHogs also announced defenseman Cavan Fitzgerald will miss six to eight weeks with a lower body injury. 

Trending Upward: The Rockford penalty kill went 2/2 yesterday to put their success rate against the Moose man advantage to 86% (26/30). The two minor penalties were the fewest the IceHogs have taken in a single game against Manitoba this year. The IceHogs have allowed just one power play goal over their last last 11 tries. Averaging 17.2 penalty minutes per game, Rockford leads the league in penalty minutes.
