Game Preview: IceHogs Look To End Skid Against Moose
Rockford, IL- The Rockford IceHogs (13-19-2-2 ) wrap up their homestand against the Manitoba Moose (17-13-3-0) tonight at 7 p.m.
Last Time Out: The IceHogs will go for the split of this two-game set against Manitoba after falling in the shootout Saturday night. Manitoba opened the scoring less than two minutes into the game when Parker Ford beat Owen Flores on a two-on-one advantage. Flores, making his AHL debut, then settled in and Dominic Toninato and Rem Pitlick found the back of the net to give Rockford a 2-1 lead. The Moose would draw even with a short-handed goal by Walker Duehr in the late moments of regulation. Neither team would find the back of the net in overtime as the game went into the shootout. The IceHogs were held off the board in all four rounds as defenseman Villie Heinola delivered the game-winning goal in the shootout. Flores made 32 saves in his first game as a Rockford IceHog.

Three Things To Know:
Give and Take: Both special team units played a major role in Saturday's game against the Moose, with Rockford scoring a short-handed goal along with a power play goal. Toninato collected the sixth short-handed goal of the season for the IceHogs, which is tied with Chicago and Manitoba for most in the division. Pitlick tallied the team's 20th power play goal to give the IceHogs a 2-1 lead at the time. Pitlick now has four power play goals, two with Bakersfield and two with Rockford. The Moose would draw even in the final moments of regulation with a short-handed goal of their own. The IceHogs have surrendered ten goals when on the power play, which is the most in the AHL.
Roster Moves: The Blackhawks and IceHogs had a chaotic 48 hours last week in a flurry of roster moves as several players in Chicago fell ill. Stanislav Berezhnoy, Drew Commesso, and Kevin Korchinski were called up to the Blackhawks for a tough back-to-back schedule. Commesso rebounded Saturday night with a 36-save shutout over the Nashville Predators to earn his first career NHL win. With the win Saturday night Commesso becomes the fourth goalie in franchise history to record a shutout in his first win. Berezhnoy backed up Commesso Saturday night after posting a 24- save performance with the IceHogs last Friday. Chicago native Owen Flores posted a strong AHL debut Saturday against Manitoba. The 21-year-old goalie came up short in his 34-save debut and has a 8-5-3 record with the Indy Fuel in the ECHL.
Boucher Signs Extension: The IceHogs announced they signed forward Dillion Boucher to an extension through the 2026-27 season. Boucher dropped the gloves with Tyrel Bauer Saturday night in a spirited bout at center ice. The fourth-year pro has skated in 24 games with the IceHogs, collecting 66 penalty minutes. Boucher spent his first three pro seasons in the ECHL, skating in 151 games and collecting 35 points (14g, 21a).
