Rockford, IL- The Rockford IceHogs (10-12-2-0) return to the BMO Center tonight to host the Milwaukee Admirals (12-7-2-0) for a 7 p.m. puck drop. The IceHogs are coming off a 4-3 win over the Iowa Wild where Laurent Brossoit made 30 saves to pick up his first win as an IceHog. Recent additions to the IceHogs' lineup in Sam Rinzel and Landon Slaggert made their presence felt Wednesday night in Des Moines. Rinzel tallied two assists and Slaggert recorded Rockford's opening goal early in the second period.

The Matchup:

All-Time Series: 84-80-14-12

Season Series: 2-1-2-0

Tale of the Tape: The IceHogs will face-off with the Admirals for the sixth time already this season. Rockford took the last meeting between the two clubs with a 3-2 victory in Milwaukee on Nov. 30. The two central division foes have met in tightly contested battles this season with four of the first five games being decided by one goal and three of the games going into overtime. Each game has been a defensive struggle with neither team surpassing the three goal mark yet this season. The Admirals enter tonight's contest having lost their previous three games, with all three losses coming on the road. The IceHogs will look to change their luck on home ice and pickup their first win at the BMO Center since Oct. 17.

Three Things to Know:

Special Teams Showdown: Rockford's special team units have been getting their fair share of ice time over the last few games. The IceHogs have been shorthanded 14 times over their previous two games and have gone 12/14 (85.7%) over that stretch. Rockford will take on the league's best power play unit tonight in Milwaukee who is operating at 36.2% through their first 21 games this season. The IceHogs' penalty kill checks in at the 10th spot in the league with an 82% success rate on the PK. Rockford cashed in with a power play goal in Des Moines with Lardis collecting his team-leading sixth power play tally.

Brossoit First Win: Veteran netminder Laurent Brossoit picked up his first win in the Blackhawks organization Wednesday night stopping 30 of 33 shots faced. Brossoit is currently on a conditioning stint with Rockford after recovering from a knee injury suffered in 2024.  The British Columbia native played in 140 NHL games between Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Vegas. Brossoit started eight games in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Vegas Golden Knights, posting a 5-3 record and helping the Knights secure the first Stanley Cup in franchise history.

Seney Moves Up Leaderboard: Rockford's captain etched his name into more IceHogs' history with a two point performance Wednesday night. With two assists, Brett Seney moved into second all-time in AHL points with 181 points, passing Jeremy Morin who spent five years with the Blackhawks organization. Seney now trails Brandon Pirri who has 214 points as an IceHog. With another multi-point game, Seney also moved into second all-time with 43 career multi-point games.

Heard It Here First:

Jared Nightingale on Sam Rinzel joining Rockford:

He's going to play some big minutes and get some confidence back. He really impressed us at prospect camp in the fall, he has a lot of tools... he's great with the puck can skate well. We are going to trust him to go out there and make play, but defend first.
