Rockford, IL- The Rockford IceHogs (6-4-0-0) begin their three-game weekend with a road contest against the Milwaukee Admirals (4-1-2-0) tonight at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena at 7 p.m. The Central Division foes will battle twice this weekend for a home-and-home series as the Admirals will visit the BMO Center Saturday night.
The Matchup:
2025-26 Season Series: 1-0-0-0
Tale of the Tape: The IceHogs and Admirals will meet for the first time since opening night where Samuel Savoie scored the overtime winner to give Rockford a 3-2 victory. Milwaukee enters the home-and-home series this weekend riding a three game point streak after splitting last weekend with the Cleveland Monsters. The Admirals are 3-0-1-0 in the first four home games this year after a 3-2 overtime win last Saturday.
Three Things To Know:
Lardis Makes History: Earlier this week the AHL announced Nick Lardis as the 'AHL Rookie of the Month' for October. The 20-year-old forward is the first IceHog to earn the award. Lardis collected 12 points in the month of October with four goals and eight assists and had three multi-point performances. The Oakville, ON native currently leads AHL rookies in scoring with 13 points (5g, 8a) in his first ten games of the season. Lardis had a four-game point streak from 10/12- 10/19, tallying eight points in that stretch.
Roster Updates: The IceHogs announced roster moves this week with Oliver Moore getting recalled to Chicago and Landon Slaggert being assigned to Rockford. Moore made his season debut with the Blackhawks on 11/3 against the Seattle Kraken. The 2023 1st round draft pick skated in nine games with the Blackhawks last season, recording four assists. The former Golden Gopher had nine points (6g, 3a) in nine games with the IceHogs this season. Slaggert was assigned to Rockford this week after appearing in five games with Chicago this season. The South Bend, IN native played in 39 games with the IceHogs last season, putting up 25 points (10g, 15a).
November Sprint: Rockford will take the ice in three different cities in three days this weekend while battling Milwaukee and the Iowa Wild. The IceHogs will lace up their skates for 14 games this month, the most in the month of November since the 2014-15 season where they played 13 times. Of Rockford's 14 games this month, eight will be at the BMO Center. Tonight is the first of four meetings between the IceHogs and Admirals for the month of November.
Heard It Here First:
Matt Smith on Drew Commesso's development:
He's been really good, obviously the numbers speak for themselves and sometimes getting a bit of a reset can be helpful. Last year when he went through that injury he took it upon himself as an opportunity to get better and you can see that in his game.
Brett Seney on Lardis' first month with the team:
Every game he has gotten better, he's starting to figure out his spots to let his skill takeover. He works hard and he's not afraid to mix it up too and maybe that's not necessarily a game he's played before, but he doesn't shy away from it. I think he is just going to keep getting better.
