The Chicago Blackhawks announced today the team will host the inaugural Chicago Blackhawks Training Camp Festival on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the United Center to give fans a preview of the team for the 2008-09 season.
“The Blackhawks are proud to offer our great fans an unprecedented look at the intensity of a live NHL training camp,” said Jay Blunk, Senior Vice President of Business Operations. “The 2008 Chicago Blackhawks Training Camp Festival represents one more step in making the Blackhawks organization accessible to our fans. We look forward to celebrating the return of the Blackhawks to the ice with a wealth of activities and events.”
The marquee attraction of the Festival will allow fans inside the United Center to watch the first day of training camp drills and scrimmages in preparation for the 2008-09 season. Fans inside the United Center will get hockey instruction from coaches and former Blackhawks greats. The Festival will also consist of a 5K run/walk/inline skate, named The Mad Dash to Madison, as well as a 3-on-3 street hockey tournament, live music and many other activities for fans of all ages.

2008 Chicago Blackhawks Training Camp Festival Schedule of Events
7:30 A.M. – 5K Mad Dash to Madison on-site registration begins (Lot K)
8:00 A.M. – Training Camp Festival and street hockey tournament begins (Lot K)
9:00 A.M. – 5K Mad Dash to Madison begins (Adams St. and Wood St.)
*10:30 A.M. – Blackhawks training camp practice begins (United Center ice)
Narration of the practice will be provided by coaches and former Blackhawks players
*3:00 P.M. – Blackhawks training camp practice ends
4:00 P.M. – Training Camp Festival and street hockey tournament ends
