Hit TV show returns on FOX 39 at 9:35 p.m.

Rockford, Ill.- The popular television show “Bacon Bits”, featuring the Rockford IceHogs, returns this Sunday, April 13.  This season’s fifth episode gets underway at 9:35 p.m. on FOX 39 in Rockford.  The show comes on the heels of Rockford’s 2007-08 regular season finale on Sunday afternoon.

The half-hour show is hosted by WTVO-TV Sports Director Scott Leber and Weekend Sports Anchor Vince Conway.  This month’s “Bacon Bits” will preview the upcoming Calder Cup Playoffs with IceHogs Head Coach Mike Haviland.  “Bacon Bits” will dissect the upcoming playoffs.

Leber caught up with Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon and they will discuss the progression of the young talent in the Blackhawks organization.  Leber will also get the scoop on the upcoming off-season for Chicago and possible moves that the Blackhawks might make.

With the IceHogs first year in the books as the Blackhawks top affiliate, “Bacon Bits” will look back on the first season of the AHL in Rockford.

“Bacon Bits” then goes behind the mic with a feature on IceHogs play-by-play commentator Mike Peck.   Leber and Conway also will catch up with one of the IceHogs Super Fans, Tim Smith.

Another popular segment returns as “Bacon Bits” will “Hogtie” Hogs goalie Wade Flaherty.  Flaherty will be asked a series of questions in a minute time span.

Check your local listings to see if “Bacon Bits” will air in your area.
