ECHL All-Star to join the IceHogs

Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs General Manager of Hockey Operations Al MacIsaac announced on Wednesday that the American Hockey League will sign defenseman Kenny MacAulay to a PTO.  MacAulay was loaned to the IceHogs from the Fresno Falcons (ECHL).

The 5-10 defenseman was named to this year’s ECHL All-Star game played in Stockton, Cal. in January.  MacAulay is currently skating in his rookie season with the Falcons and has appeared in all 43 of Fresno’s games.  The first year blue-liner has 4g-17a-21pts during his stint in Fresno with a plus/minus rating of +13.

MacAulay skated the past three seasons collegiately at the University of Vermont.  In his three seasons with the Catamounts, MacAulay totaled 11g-42a-52pts in 109 career college games.  Prior to joining Fresno last fall, the Baddeck, Nova Scotia native attended Worcester Sharks (AHL) training camp.

Weather permitting, MacAulay is expected to join the IceHogs in time for Thursday’s game at the Rockford MetroCentre against the Manitoba Moose.

Next Home Game: Thursday, Feb. 7 vs. Manitoba Moose.  Game time is 7:05 p.m.  The Hogs and Moose match-up for a fourth and final time this season when they face-off at the MetroCentre.  The game was moved up two days from its originally scheduled date to accommodate a concert at the MetroCentre on Saturday.
