HOGS FALL TO WOLVES IN WEEK 19

Week 19 Recap:
After getting nearly a week off for the AHL All-Star Break, the IceHogs only had one contest in Week 19, but were not able to continue the successful run they had going from January, losing to Chicago 4-2. Rockford will play all three Week 20 games at the BMO Harris Bank Center, and two of those contests will be against the Wolves. Lake Erie also comes to town on Wednesday for the second of four matchups between the two clubs.

Rockford had their season-long seven game point streak (6-0-0-1) come to an end on Friday in Chicago

Carter Hutton had his personal six-game streak without a loss (5-0-0-1) snapped

Brandon Pirri had his team season-high seven-game point streak snapped on Friday, totaling 3g-5a-8pts

Week 19 featured just one game for Rockford, the IceHogs third and final one-game week in 2011-12

Defenseman Brian Fahey chipped in an assist on Friday and now has a point in three-straight games (1g-2a)

Center Peter LeBlanc registered his 16th goal of the season on Friday and now has five lamp lighters in his last four games

LeBlanc’s 16 tallies are second on the IceHogs, only behind Pirri’s 19 goals

Winger Ben Smith has points in 12 of his last 17 contests with Rockford dating back to Dec. 14, totaling 6g-8a-14pts

Smith’s helper on Friday was his 12th on the season, matching his rookie assist total through 26 games played with the IceHogs this season compared to 63 a season ago

Rockford has held the Wolves without a power-play goal on 18 straight advantages dating back to Jan. 11

The IceHogs held Chicago to just 18 shots on goal on Friday, the team’s second lowest shots against in a game only to the 17 surrendered to the Wolves on Oct. 22 in a 4-1 loss

Rockford plays a pair of home games against the Wolves on Friday and Saturday to complete a stretch in which the IceHogs will have faced the Wolves six times in ten games

Ben Youds scored his first career power-play goal on Friday

Rockford has power-play goals in three straight games, going 3-16 (18.8%) during that stretch

Beginning Wednesday, Rockford will play their next four at the BMO Harris Bank Center and seven of their next ten overall
running through Feb. 29

Rockford is riding a season-high four-game home winning streak


Hot Hog: Week 19:
Ben Youds, Defenseman
Rookie defenseman Ben Youds tallied his first career power play goal on Friday in Chicago and led the IceHogs with five shots on goal in Rockford’s 4-2 loss to the Wolves. Youds is now tied for the team lead for goals from the defense with three markers on the season. In 28 games this season, Youds now has 3g-5a-8pts and is even in the plus/minus department.

Upcoming Games:
Wednesday, Feb. 8 vs. Lake Erie Monsters. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs return to the BMO Harris Bank Center for the first time since the All-Star break to play their first home game in the month of February. It’s also a Taco Bell Dollar Day. Fans can purchase beers, hot dogs, soft drinks and companion tickets for just one dollar each.

Friday, Feb. 10 vs. Chicago Wolves. Rockford and Chicago faceoff for the ninth time this season and for the first of back-to-back contests between the Midwest Division rivals at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. It is also an Illinois Lottery Cup game. Get a great deal with an IceHogs Family 4 pack, which includes 4 tickets, sodas and hot dogs for $49.

Saturday, Feb. 11 vs. Chicago Wolves.
The second straight contest between the Wolves and Hogs starts at 7:05 p.m. It is another Illinois Lottery Cup tilt and the 10th of 12 matchups between the two teams. Saturday is fleece blanket giveaway night, and the first 1,500 fans through the doors will receive an IceHogs fleece blanket, courtesy of OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.

Bud Light Hog Talk Returns To Granite City Tonight:
Bud Light Hog Talk returns to Granite City Food and Brewery tonight after taking a week off for the All-Star Break. Mike Peck will be joined by IceHogs Assistant Coach Ben Simon and forwards Chris DiDomenico and Brandon Svendsen. Granite City is located at 7140 Harrison Ave. next to CherryVale Mall. Fans can join Mike Peck or Stephen Nelson from 6-7 p.m. most Mondays as he chats with IceHogs skaters and coaches. Stop by to take advantage of food and Bud Light specials. If you can't make it to Granite City, tune into 100.5 NTA FM or 1330 AM WNTA.

The IceHogs Broadcasting Network:
Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all of the IceHogs regular and post-season games on the Hogs’ flagship radio station, Rockford’s Voice 100.5 NTA FM and 1330 AM WNTA, and 30 regular season games on ESPN Radio 1380 AM WTJK. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with AHL Live! Also, fans with Comcast Cable television in Rockford can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action at the BMO Harris Bank Center this season. All Saturday home games will also be televised on My Network TV digital subchannel 17.2 along with Comcast and Charter Cable channel 16. The broadcast begins with the U.S. Cellular Pregame Show 30 minutes before the puck drops.
