Toledo, Ohio-
The Toledo Walleye's Maxime Tanguay has been named to the ECHL All-Rookie team for the 2009-10 season.

Tanguay, who signed an American Hockey League contract with the Rockford IceHogs on Sept. 9, 2009, has appeared in 63 games for the Walleye, recording 25 goals and 43 assists.

He has one assist in five games with the IceHogs in 2009-10, making his professional debut with the squad on Oct. 4, 2009.  The Lac Etchemin, Quebec native is third in the ECHL in points and second in assists.

The ECHL All-Rookie team was determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, who were asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards.

"I am very excited to win this award," said Tanguay. "I feel the same way I did when I was selected for the All-Star game this year. It is a tremendous honor for me and the entire team."

The 2009-10 ECHL All-Rookie Team also includes forwards Evan Barlow (Idaho Steelheads), and Justin Donati (Elmira Jackals) as well as defensemen Drew Paris (Gwinnett Gladiators) and Sam Roberts (Gwinnett Gladiators).  Richard Bachman (Idaho Steelheads) was the goalie representative.

Next Home Game: Friday, April 2 vs. Lake Erie Monsters. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs open up their final home weekend of the 2009-10 regular season. The first 1,500 kids 14 and under will pick up an IceHogs Youth Hockey Stick courtesy of McDonalds and 97ZOK. Also, the first 1,500 fans to the game will receive a 2009-10 IceHogs Team Photo.
