ROCKFORD PICKS UP A POINT IN WEEK 21

The Rockford IceHogs were only able to pick up one standings point in three games during Week 21. The Hogs were shutout on home ice against the Peoria Rivermen on Wednesday before traveling to Canada for a pair of contests. Rockford battled back from three-down to send the game to overtime against Toronto on Friday but fell short 4-3 and lost a late lead on Saturday to drop a 5-2 contest to Hamilton. The Hogs will look to rebound in Week 22 with two home games in their three game weekend.

Bacon Bits:
-Rockford is winless in four-straight games (0-3-1-0) and have dropped six of their last seven games dating back to Feb. 3
-Winger Jeremy Morin snapped out of an 11-game goalless slump on Friday with two markers at Toronto
-On Saturday, Brandon Segal broke out of a 16-game goalless streak
-Brandon Pirri’s goal on Saturday ended a six-game stretch in which the center was held without a point

-Rockford has gone 17 games where they haven’t scored more than three goals
-Since scoring a power-play goal in a season-high six-straight games, Rockford has gone scoreless on the PP over their last three contests, going 0-12 overall
-Hamilton’s power-play goal in the third period on Saturday broke Rockford’s streak of 21 straight penalty kills dating back to Feb. 10

Hot Hog: Week 21
Jeremy Morin  Right Wing
Winger Jeremy Morin snapped out of an 11-game goalless streak when he potted two markers to help dig Rockford out of a 3-0 hole in Toronto on Friday night. Morin began the comeback on Friday with a goal in the second period and then tied the game midway through the third frame. The winger finished the week +3 and now has 11g-18a-29pts in 47 games this season.

Upcoming Games:
Friday, Feb. 24 at Chicago Wolves - 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs wrap up a three game road trip with a bout against their Midwest Division rival Chicago Wolves at the Allstate Arena. The Illinois Lottery Cup matchup is the 11th of 12 on the season between the two clubs and the IceHogs show a record of 4-6-0-0 against Chicago in 2011-12.

Saturday, Feb. 25 vs. Milwaukee Admirals - 7:05 p.m. Rockford welcomes the Milwaukee Admirals to the BMO Harris Bank Center for sixth of 12 meetings on the campaign. The first 1,500 fans into the building will receive an IceHogs sock monkey courtesy of BMO Harris Bank.

Sunday, Feb. 26 vs. Chicago Wolves - 5:05 p.m. The IceHogs conclude the season series with the Chicago Wolves on Sunday at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Fans can meet and greet Hall of Famer and Blackhawks legend Tony Esposito before the game and during the first intermission. The first 1,500 fans to the game will pick up a goalie replica mask thanks to U.S. Cellular. It’s also the last chance for fans to “Skate with the Hogs” following the game.

Bud Light Hog Talk Returns To Granite City Tonight:
Bud Light Hog Talk makes its weekly appearance tonight at Granite City Food and Brewery. Mike Peck hosts IceHogs Assistant Coach Ben Simon, forward Rob Flick and defenseman Simon Danis-Pepin. Granite City is located at 7140 Harrison Ave. next to CherryVale Mall. Fans can join Mike Peck or Stephen Nelson from 6-7 p.m. most Mondays as they chat with IceHogs skaters and coaches. Stop by to take advantage of food and Bud Light specials. If you can't make it to Granite City, tune into 100.5 NTA FM or 1330 AM WNTA.

The IceHogs Broadcasting Network:
Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all of the IceHogs regular and post-season games on the Hogs’ flagship radio station, Rockford’s Voice 100.5 NTA FM and 1330 AM WNTA, and 30 regular season games on ESPN Radio 1380 AM WTJK. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with AHL Live! All Saturday home games will also be televised on My Network TV digital subchannel 17.2 along with Comcast and Charter Cable channel 16.
