Rockford, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks have selected 18 players in the past two National Hockey League entry drafts, four of which have already officially become members of the Chicago Blackhawks organization.

Today, during icehogs.com’s coverage of NHL Draft Week, we are looking at the previous two years of Blackhawks draft picks, where they are, and what they accomplished during the 2010-11 season.

Four players are already playing in the Blackhawks organization from the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Dylan Olsen, Brandon Pirri, Marcus Kruger and David Gilbert have either already played for the Rockford IceHogs or the Chicago Blackhawks, and Byron Froese has signed for the upcoming 2011-12 season.

Olsen, selected in the first round (28th overall) in 2009, played 42 regular-season games with Rockford tallying four points (0g-4a). Before coming to the IceHogs, the 6-3 defenseman notched 13 points (1g-12a) in 17 regular-season tilts with a plus/minus rating of +8 with the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs and also helped Team Canada win a silver medal at the World Jr. Championships.

In the second round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, the Blackhawks selected Pirri. The 6-0, 160-pound center skated in 70 games with the IceHogs racking up 43 points (12g-31a) in the 2010-11, most among Rockford rookies. Pirri also made his NHL debut with Chicago appearing in one game.

Dan DeLisle, a sophomore at the University of Minnesota Duluth (NCAA), who was drafted 189th overall, is one of three players from Chicago’s 2009 draft not to have signed with the organization yet. The 6-foot-5 winger was plagued with injuries that limited him to 31 games for the NCAA Division I National Champion Bulldogs. DeLisle finished with six points (4g-2a) and a plus/minus rating of +6 in those 31 contests.

Froese, drafted in the fourth round (119th overall), was signed by the Blackhawks to a three-year entry-level contract on May 31.
