Chris ToltzmanP.A. Announcer
This is Chris Toltzman’s 16th season as Public Address Announcer for the IceHogs and 13th season as the Music Director for the team. This dual role of announcing and playing the in-game music is extremely rare at any level of professional sports. Toltzman is a native of Greendale, Wisconsin- a Southwest suburb of Milwaukee- and attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where he studied Radio and Television Production and Management.
Toltzman got his start in announcing as a student at UW-P when the Men’s Basketball coach, Bo Ryan (former Head Coach at Wisconsin), hired him to announce the Pioneer Men’s Basketball games. When not delivering his signature “Wooo” after IceHogs goals, Toltzman is the Public Address Announcer for the Northern Illinois University Football team (since 2002) and announces Hononegah High School Boys’ Basketball games (since 2001) when his schedule allows. Other notable announcing jobs he has worked include a Chicago Bulls exhibition game at the then Rockford MetroCentre and three Soldier Field Showdown games for the HIU Huskies Football team at the Chicago Bears’ home stadium.
Outside of announcing, Toltzman is a freelance video producer for his company Seven11 Productions where he has won numerous awards for his work, including 2 Emmy Award wins and an Emmy Award nomination. You can view his work at the website www.seven11productions.com. Chris is married to Anna and has two daughters, Lindsey and Monika. He likes to cook, travel and spend time with his family in his free time.
