BLACKHAWKS RECALL SHAW

Chicago, Ill.- The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled forward Andrew Shaw from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.

Shaw, 20, has tallied five goals, nine points and 18 penalty minutes in 19 games with Chicago during his NHL debut. He registered his first NHL point with a goal in his first NHL game, while also adding his first fighting major, on January 5 at Philadelphia. Chicago’s fifth choice (139th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Shaw has also tallied 12 goals and 23 points in 38 tilts with Rockford in his first professional season.

Hogs Next Game: Wednesday, Feb. 29 vs. Abbotsford Heat. Game time is 7:05 p.m. It’s another Taco Bell Dollar Day as the IceHogs face off against the Heat for the final time in 2011-12. Fans can take advantage of one dollar beers, hot dogs, soft drinks and companion tickets. The game is the fourth and final between the two clubs and marks the return of former IceHogs All-Star defenseman Brian Connelly.
