09/24/2010 12:20 PM - Hogs open camp at the Rockford MetroCentre
Rockford, Ill.-The 12th season of Rockford IceHogs professional hockey and fourth as the top affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and members of the American Hockey League begins on Sunday. The team’s 2010-11 training camp commences at 1:30 p.m. at the Rockford MetroCentre.
Rockford’s training camp in preparation for the season opener on Saturday, Oct. 9 against the Manitoba Moose will conclude on Oct. 8. All IceHogs training camp practices will take place at the MetroCentre and will not be open to the public.
The IceHogs training camp slate also features four preseason contests. Rockford will take on the Peoria Rivermen on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at the MetroCentre; Wednesday, Sept. 29 at West Meadows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows, Ill. against the Chicago Wolves; Friday, Oct. 1 against the Milwaukee Admirals at the MetroCentre; and Saturday Oct. 2 at Peoria against the Rivermen.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Oct. 9 vs. Manitoba Moose. Game time is 4:35 p.m. The IceHogs begin the 2010-11 season against the Manitoba Moose and the first 5,000 fans will receive a 2010-11 IceHogs Magnet schedule courtesy of U.S. Cellular, Dental Dimensions, Guerilla Graffix and the Illinois Pork Producers. Before the game on Saturday there is a fan festival from 1-4 p.m. where fans can enjoy music, food, and entertainment.
