Goaltender returns to Rockford

Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs General Manager Al MacIsaac announced on Thursday that goaltender Mike Brodeur has been reassigned to the Rockford IceHogs from the ECHL’s Pensacola Ice Pilots.

The call up to Rockford is the fourth of the season for Brodeur.  In six appearances with the IceHogs in 2007-08, Brodeur is 2-3-0 with a .915 save percentage and a 2.41 goals against average.  Brodeur also received his first career NHL recall earlier in the campaign to the Chicago Blackhawks.

With Pensacola this season, Brodeur played in 26 games and compiled a record of 10-9-5 to go along with a .918 save percentage and a 2.83 goals against average.  Brodeur was recalled after an upper body injury sustained by IceHogs goalie Wade Flaherty on Sunday against the Iowa Stars.  Flaherty is listed as day-to-day.

Next Home Game: Saturday, April 5 vs. San Antonio Rampage.  The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.  A key West Division match-up at the MetroCentre as the IceHogs and Rampage meet for the final time in the regular season.  The game is the IceHogs Charitable Foundation’s annual Jersey Auction as the IceHogs wear special jerseys that will be auctioned following the game. The first 1,000 fans to the game will pick up a jersey auction t-shirt courtesy of Saturn of Rockford, Dental Dimensions, Alpha Controls & Services, and 13 WREX.
