Week 27 Recap
With a win over the Lake Erie Monsters on Friday at the Rockford MetroCentre, the Rockford IceHogs punched their ticket for the 2010 Calder Cup playoffs.  The team also set season and per game attendance records on Saturday thanks to their sixth sellout of the season while dropping their final regular season home contest to Milwaukee.  The regular season comes to an end in Week 28 with a trip to Texas to face Houston, Texas and San Antonio.

Bacon Bits:
-The IceHogs clinched their third consecutive Calder Cup playoff berth on Friday with a win over Lake Erie

-It is the sixth straight playoff berth for a Rockford franchise and eighth in the team’s 11-year history

-Rockford set an all-time per game attendance record of 3,978 on Saturday with their sixth sellout of the season on Saturday

-The 5,951 fans in attendance on Saturday brought the 2009-10 season total to 159,132, also a record for the Rockford franchise

-Rockford has increased attendance every year since entering the American Hockey League

-The IceHogs finished the 2009-10 home portion of the schedule with a 26-12-1-1 record

-That’s the most home wins since the 2005-06 season when the team played in the UHL

-Goalie Corey Crawford finished the season 16-6-0 at the Rockford MetroCentre

-Left Wing Kyle Beach, the Chicago Blackhawks’ 2008 first-round draft pick, made his 2009-10 Rockford IceHogs debut on Saturday after being assigned to the team on Friday

-The Hogs improved to 23-8-3-3 in one-goal games this season after Rockford’s 2-1 win over Lake Erie on Friday

-A total of 55 percent of Rockford’s wins in 2009-10 have come by a single-goal margin

Hot Hog Week 27:
Goalie Corey Crawford backstopped the IceHogs to a 2-1 win over the Lake Erie Monsters on Friday, clinching the team’s third straight Calder Cup playoff appearance.  The netminder stopped 32 of 33 shots.  Crawford is 4-2-0 since March 13 and has not allowed four goals in a game since March 7.  The Montreal, Quebec native has a .588 winning percentage (22-16-2) in 2009-10 after starting the season 5-7-1.

Upcoming Games:
Tuesday, April 6 at Houston Aeros: Game time is 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs take their roud tour to Texas for a set of three games.  The first stop is the Toyota Center for the final game of the season against the Houston Aeros.  It is the eighth match-up between the two teams.

Friday, April 9 at Texas Stars:
The Rockford IceHogs face-off with the Texas Stars in a potential Calder Cup playoff preview at 7:30 p.m.  It is the final of four visits to the Cedar Park Center in the 2009-10 regular season.

Saturday, April 10 at San Antonio Rampage:
Game time is 7:05 p.m.  The 2009-10 regular season comes to an end at the AT&T Center as the Rockford IceHogs take on the San Antonio Rampage.  It is the final of eight meetings between the two teams.

The IceHogs Broadcasting Network:
Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all of the IceHogs regular-and post-season games on the Hogs’ flagship radio station Rockford’s Voice, WNTA-AM 1330 and 30 regular season games on ESPN Radio 1380-AM, WTJK.  Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with AHL Live!  Visit the IceHogs Web site ( and click on the “click here to watch the AHL Live” icon, and for just $7 you can catch all of the IceHogs action on your computer.  Also, fans with Comcast Cable television in Rockford can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action this season.  The broadcast begins with the Pregame Show 30 minutes before the puck drops. No Bud Light Hog Talk Tonight At Hooters:
Join the IceHogs at Hooters of Rockford near State and Perryville for Bud Light Hog Talk most Mondays. Fans can watch WXRX’s Jim Stone from 6-7 p.m. as he chats with players, coaches and staff throughout the 2009-10 season. Stop by and take advantage of some great food and Bud Light specials. If you can’t make it, tune into 1330 AM WNTA to hear the show live.

2010 Calder Cup playoff tickets are now on sale!  Call (815) 968-5222 to reserve your seats for the first two IceHogs playoff games.  Dates and times are yet to be determined.  Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Rockford MetroCentre Box Office in downtown Rockford or on the Web at  Tickets start at just $11.
