Blackhawks Activate Bolland From IR, Recall Fallon From Rockford

The Chicago Blackhawks have activated center
Dave Bolland from Injured Reserve. In addition, the Blackhawks have recalled goaltender Joe Fallon from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.

Bolland, 23, registered four assists, six points and 14 penalty minutes in 13 games this season before being placed on injured reserve on Nov. 12. The Mimico, Ontario, native has appeared in 134 regular-season games over parts of the last four seasons with the Blackhawks, recording 70 points (25G, 45A) and 94 penalty minutes.

Chicago’s second choice, 32nd overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Bolland ranked sixth on the club with a career-high 19 goals and seventh with a career-best 47 points while appearing in 81 of Chicago’s 82 regular-season contests last season. He also tied for third on the team with eight assists and fourth with 12 points in 17 tilts during his Stanley Cup Playoff debut. Fallon, 25, leads Rockford with 13 wins (13-9-1) and a 2.64 GAA, and has posted a .911 save percentage in 26 contests this season. The Bemidji, Minnesota native is also tied for the club lead with one shutout and has limited opponents to two goals or fewer in 11 of his last 17 outings.

Chicago’s ninth choice, 167th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Fallon made his professional debut in 2008-09 after a four-year collegiate career at the University of Vermont where he established a school record with 20 shutouts. In his first pro season, Fallon compiled an 18-14-2 record and 2.98 GAA in 35 ECHL games with Fresno and Gwinnett, and a 0.95 GAA in two appearances with Rockford. He represented Gwinnett at the 2009 ECHL All-Star Game.
