Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have activated forward Brandon Mashinter (MASH-ihn-tuhr) from Injured Reserve and assigned him to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
Mashinter, 26, racked up 14 goals, 14 assists and 79 penalty minutes in 47 games for the IceHogs last season. He was also named Rockford’s Heavy Hitter in 2013-14.
The Bradford, Ontario native was acquired by the Blackhawks from the New York Rangers on Dec. 6. Mashinter appeared in six NHL games with the Rangers and chipped in eight points (1g-7a) in 11 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack before the trade.
Next Home Game: Saturday, Oct. 25 vs. Chicago Wolves, Puck drop is 7 p.m. The IceHogs will kick off the next installment of the Illinois Lottery Cup when the Wolves visit the BMO Harris Bank Center.
