Rockford drops two of three contests on home ice
Week 16 Recap
A season-high crowd of 6,267 watched the Rockford IceHogs and San Antonio Rampage skate on pink ice on Saturday at the Rockford MetroCentre. Closing out a stretch 15 of 19 contests on home ice, the IceHogs went 1-2-0-0 during Week 16, with all three games at the MetroCentre. There are three more games on the slate for the IceHogs in Week 17.

Hot Hog: Week 16
Jeff Taffe Right Wing
Winger Jeff Taffe tallied goals in back-to-back games for the IceHogs during Week 16 and now leads the IceHogs with 26 points and 12 goals. The veteran forward notched a power-play goal on Friday night in Rockford’s 4-3 loss to the Oklahoma City Barons and then scored his team-leading 12th goal of the campaign on Saturday in Rockford’s 4-1 loss to the San Antonio Rampage.
Tuesday, Jan. 25 at Peoria Rivermen: Game time is 7:05 p.m. Rockford returns to Peoria for the first time since November to take on the Rivermen at Carver Arena. The game is the fourth of five on the season in Peoria between the two clubs and sixth of 10 overall.
Friday, Jan. 28 at Grand Rapids: Puck drop is at 6 p.m. The IceHogs and Griffins meet up for a fourth time this season and second at the Van Andel Arena. Rockford looks to keep their hot streak alive against Grand Rapids as Rockford is 10-0-0-1 over their past 11 contests against the North Division foe.
Saturday, Jan. 29 vs. Milwaukee Admirals: The puck gets on the ice at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs match-up with the Milwaukee Admirals for a fifth time this season and third at the Rockford MetroCentre. The first 2,500 fans to the game on Saturday will receive an IceHogs winter hat courtesy of Rasmussen College, FOX 39 and ESPN 1380.
Bud Light Hog Talk Tonight At Swilligan’s Pub:
Bud Light Hog Talk returns to Swilligan’s Pub tonight. Swillgan’s Pub is located in downtown Rockford at 200 North Church St. Fans can join Matt Prefontaine and Courtney King from 6-7 p.m. tonight as he chats with IceHogs players, coaches and front office members. This week’s guests include IceHogs forward Wade Brookbank and rookie defenseman Dylan Olsen along with Developmental Goaltending Coach Wade Flaherty.
