One of North America’s original aquariums is teaming up with one of hockey’s original teams. Today, the John G. Shedd Aquarium joins fellow Chicago Blackhawk supporters throughout the city and the country to support the Blackhawks’ quest for the Stanley Cup.
Shedd Aquarium divers will don the legendary Blackhawks hockey jersey during each dive presentation in Shedd’s popular 90-thousand gallon Caribbean Reef exhibit. Starting Saturday, in conjunction with Game 5 of the first round of the playoffs, Shedd divers will proudly wear the famed Blackhawks jerseys in the water as they interact with the public and the fish. Shedd will continue wearing the Blackhawks jerseys on game days throughout the playoffs. Shedd offers six Caribbean Reef dives daily.
“The Chicago Blackhawks, like Shedd Aquarium, are a Chicago icon and we are proud to support the team during their playoff run,” said Ted A. Beattie, Shedd’s President/CEO. “On behalf of Shedd’s 32,500 animals, we salute the Blackhawks for a great season and are excited about the possibility of bringing the Stanley Cup back to Chicago.”
